Welcome to the Kinney County Groundwater Conservation District, we will be putting information here for all to see. We are charged with Conservation of the water resources in our district. That means all the water under the ground, and where it has an effect on surface water, we are also interested in that interaction. The ecological reality is that for every action in one place there is also an action elsewhere. In other words, if someone is taking water from one place it has an effect on those in other places. What you do affects your neighbors.
Here we hope to be able to show those interactions, and keep you all aware of what our water situation is doing. From flow levels in all our springs and streams, to what may be coming up in the immediate future that will have a good or adverse effect on our water situation. As time goes on we hope to be able to show the actual pumping rate for wells and how that also has an effect on the water in our county.
